Task to serve up the live stream content from QVC at:- http://qvcuk.com/ (Watch QVC live) using Konqueror.

Mplayer and the mplayer plugin for Mozilla (M) were already previously installed and M was able to serve up the content okay. But Konqueror (K) would just open a small window and that was it.

Xine was already installed so:-

Install Kaffeine from http://kaffeine.sourceforge.net/ or 'yum install kaffeine'.

(Requirements were xine-lib 1.0rc4 and KDE 3.1.0)

Then from same site http://kaffeine.sourceforge.net/ also install the kaffeine/mozilla plugin 'kaffeine-mozilla-0.2.tar.bz2'.

The plugin is installed with standard:-

bzip2 -cd kaffeine-mozilla-0.2.tar.bz2 | tar xvf -

then:-

cd kaffeine-mozilla-0.2

./configure

make

make install

The plugin is placed in /usr/local/plugins as kaffeineplugin.so

In K install this plugin from the plugins option page of the K settings page by installing 'new' location and scanning for the new plugin. Then Apply the new settings.

Check in 'File associations' under 'applications' then scroll down to x-mplayer2 and make sure kaffeine is the top of the Application Preference Order, using the move up button if needed. On the embedding page tick the button 'show file in embedded viewer'. Again kaffeine (kaffeine_part) should be top of the 'Services Preference Order'. Then Apply the new settings.

That should be it and can be tested at the QVC site.
